The way we view God affects everything else in our lives. In many ways, it determines the way we live.

37 And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).  38 This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment.  Matt 22 : 37-38 AMPC

The Deeper Need

God is calling us to go beyond physical needs to see people’s deeper spiritual needs.

So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers].  Gal 6:10 AMPC

Happy Heart

The health of your heart and mind is directly linked to how joyful and grateful you are.

A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.  Proverbs 17:22 AMPC

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad. Proverbs 12:25 AMPC

A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.  Proverbs 15:13 AMPC

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].  Proverbs 15:15 AMPC

The Worrier

May we reject prideful worry and be humble enough to receive the grace that our Loving Father is offering.

For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)—[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble.  Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you,  Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.  1 Peter 5b-7 AMPC

But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it). James 4:6 AMPC

More Than Enough

As I acknowledge that my strength isn’t enough, I am moved to a place of resolute courage because I face tomorrow clothed in divine strength.

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.  Mat 6:34 AMPC

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!  2 Cor 12: 9 AMPC

He Leads Me Into Truth

I am grateful that your Word promises that your Spirit will guide me into all Truth.

But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].  John 16:13 AMPC

No More Hunger

As bread is used as a symbol of nourishment, in a very real way, Jesus must become for us the One who fills us and makes us whole.

Jesus replied, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst any more (at any time).  John 6:35 AMPC

Unexpected Places

God is often where we least expect, operating in unprecedented ways, through people we would normally overlook and underestimate.

But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.  And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!  Philippians 2: 7-8 AMPC

Seek, Require, Remember

In all our asking of Him, may we never forget to ask FOR Him.

On the go? Press play!

Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek and require the Lord [as their indispensable necessity].  Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore.  [Earnestly] remember the marvelous deeds that He has done, His miracles and wonders, the judgments and sentences which He pronounced [upon His enemies, as in Egypt].  PS 105 : 3-5  AMPC
